Stella Frisbie, Watershed Intern

Stella, from Washington, North Carolina, grew up kayaking and swimming on the Pamlico River, where she developed a passion for water systems and conservation. Now a senior at Furman University, she is studying Environmental Conservation Biology, where she has had the opportunity to electrofish, catch salamanders, and explore the macro invertebrates in the creeks on campus. She is an officer for the Furman University Outdoor Club, where she has led whitewater rafting and waterfall hikes, and co-leads Eco Reps, where she promotes sustainable living on campus.

Stella is interested in pursuing conservation management, hoping to work with stakeholders to protect local flora and fauna. She is excited to be part of the Friends of the Reedy River, and wants to learn more about policy and work with stakeholders in the community.

In her free time, Stella enjoys hiking, skiing, running, sewing, and in the warmer months, exploring waterfalls and swimming holes.
